Aging and Giving

“Aging is not lost youth but a new stage of opportunity and strength.” ~ Betty Friedan

This is a quick post to simply extend the messages shared in two recent posts about: 1) giving and; 2) aging. Let’s hope we can be as spunky and as generous as this woman of 98 years… if/when we are blessed to reach her age (and possess her health). More power to her and those of like mind and spirit!

  1. My grandmother is 94 and still going strong – still opinionated, fiesty, yet at the same time still overflowing with love. It’s great to see in her and others like her.

  2. She is lovely.

On this side of the pond there are lots of people in their 70s on up just bebopping around town. I have been humbled in the gym a few times. I’ve tried to join step or cardio classes and the 70-plus-ers kicked my butt every time. (lol)

    • Quite so, Steven. And inspirational. There’s a valuable take-away when they humble younger generations. I’m smiling with awareness at your (lol). I suspect there are many more out there, just like her. Sadly, many people just don’t create time to see and appreciate them.

  3. I’ve come across this video before; I think she’s amazing. I love the way she offers the interviewers refreshments at the end. Delightful.

    • Hi Sarah. I figured such an amazing video would quickly go viral. It tells a beautiful story, one which aligns nicely with many of this blog’s posts. And yes, her offering refreshments at the end was a treasure. πŸ™‚
